Three Awards by the Dr. Wolfbauer-Stiftung for the Environment Sciences in Augsburg on the Science Day 2019 at the University Hospital Augsburg

The seventh annual Science Day at the University Hospital Augsburg took place on the 11th of November, 2019. During the event, poster with scientific findings were presented by clinicians and scientists. The best poster presentations were honoured by the Dr. Wolfbauer-Stiftung, which then awarded funding to the respective projects.

Pollen Flight May Facilitate Respiratory Viral Infects – Even in Non-Allergics: Environmental Medicine Publishes Study with Considerable Scientific Relevance

Allergies and Psychosocial Factors – International Press Reports on Study of Environmental Medicine at UNIKA-T

KORA studies have been conducted since years in Augsburg. KORA is the abbreviation for “Cooperative Health Research in the Augsburg Region”. These studies provide scientists with data on the health status of the study participants. The data stems either from questionnaires or from clinical tests.

Scientific Award for the UNIKA-T-Aerobiologist María Plaza for her PhD thesis on the correlation of pollen flight, climate and allergies

Since December 2018, María Pilar Plaza García has conducted research at UNIKA-T within the team of Aerobiology under the direction of Dr. Athanasios Damialis. María, an expert on Environment and Biology, has become a researcher in 2012. Her focus is on pollen and new technologies of biomonitoring.
