Goals & Vision
The UNIKA-T's location on the campus of the Universitätsklinikum Augsburg allows for a close collaboration between the individual chairs and research associates at UNIKA-T and at the University Hospital Augsburg. The partcipating institutions pursue the ideal of collaborative fundamental structure, which povides the UNIKA-T with an outstanding visibilty and leads to mutual benefits for the UNIKA-T and its partners.
The participating institutions make contributions with their knowledge and collaborate on an interdisciplinary basis in research and teaching. The UNIKA-T promotes collaboration through the mutual use of knowledge, technologies, infrastructure, and resources plus strengthens the interdisciplinary education through joint activities and events.
The main goal is to create a nationally and internationally networked center of competence in the field of health sciences – based on the bundled expertise of the University Hospital Augsburg, the University of Augsburg, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in cooperation with existent and planned institutions of the Helmholtz Asscociation (especially KORA – Cooperative Health Research in the Augsburg Region, NAKO – national cohort). This enables a scientific upgrading of the Universitätsklinikum Augsburg and the Augsburg region.
